Budapest Metropolitan University (METU), as an entrepreneurial university, was established by private individuals in 2000. By now, METU is the largest private HEI in Hungary, with around 7000 students and 1000 international students from more than 90 countries. The METU aims to pursue a high level of education, even compared to European Union standards. The fields covered at METU are social sciences, economic studies, art and art mediation, communication and tourism in bachelor and master programmes, specific training, higher-level vocational training, tertiary-level vocational training and adult education. This is evidenced, among other things, that the world of work well receives our students. Our own TEDx events, innovative training courses such as Transformative Agile Leadership, and a hackathon with Nestlé promote the performance of METU to the broader public. Also, our university, as a large company, is able to dream up a very different form of service for its target group and scale it up to international standards.
We also provide varied knowledge that is competitive in the domestic and international labour markets. Our education is based on continuously renewing methods supported by educators with international experiences and an inspiring, innovative training and research environment. The mission of the METU is to make every participant find a way to fulfil their personal and professional potential in the inspiring and open community of METU. By developing creative thinking, we prepare our students for the changing demands of the labour market.
